Since forming the charity GastroParesis UK this site has now become the story of my personal journey with gastroparesis. All information resources relating to gastroparesis i.e. diagnosis, treatment and management, and clinical data, specialist contacts, and details of events, groups and fundraisers, can now be found on the charity website at:
gastroparesisuk.org

I am an insulin dependant diabetic, who has Gastroparesis - which is treated using the relatively new technique of 'Enterra Therapy'.
Gastroparesis can affect anyone, not just those with diabetes. Those without a known underlying cause are deemed as having 'idiopathic gastroparesis'. It is also a recognised side effect in those that have undergone transplant surgery.
For many, gastroparesis can be managed through medication and diet alone. In its severest form tube feeding may be required.
I hope you find this site helpful and maybe no longer feel like you are "the only one" out there!
The information included on this site is correct, to the best of my knowledge, but should not replace information or guidance provided by a medical professional.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and I will do my best to help you.
